Faculty and Administrative Positions

For faculty and administrative positions, a complete application includes:

  • A cover letter. Tell us why you are interested in the position. We see how well you can express yourself.
  • A complete Renton Technical College Employment Application.
  • A current and complete resume which includes dates of all employment. We prefer a chronological resume, but you may submit other styles as well.
  • Unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary education. The successful applicant will need to furnish official transcripts.
  • Two letters of recommendation from people other than those listed on the application. These should be professional recommendations rather than personal recommendations.

Support Positions

For support positions, a complete application usually includes:

  • A complete Renton Technical College Employment Application.

What Happens After You Submit Your Application?

  • All applications are reviewed for the minimum qualifications.
  • From the applicant pool, we select the best candidates for interviews or testing. We may administer a written test to determine knowledge in specific areas. Depending upon the number and the quality of applicants, we may conduct more than one round of interviews. The first round may be a telephone interview.
  • If there is more than one round of interviews, we select the best applicants to move to the next round of on-campus interviews. For teaching positions, this may include a short teaching exercise.
  • We conduct reference checks.
  • We may make an offer (or decide to take some other action.)
  • When a successful applicant has been offered a position and accepts a job offer, letters are mailed to all applicants advising them that the position has been filled.

This process usually takes at least two weeks and often longer.
