POSITION Substitute Culinary Arts Positions Renton Technical College is currently accepting applications for substitute culinary arts positions. Persons in these positions will temporarily replace permanent employees who are absent and will work on call as needed. The work day will vary.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Duties will vary with the position assignment. Individual descriptions are available for review in the human resources office. Selected substitute staff will be provided specific orientation to job duties.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications will vary with the position. Individual position descriptions are available for your review in the human resources office. All positions require the following:
  1. Hold a food handler's permit or be able to obtain one.
  2. Demonstrated ability, experience, and interest to successfully fulfill the assigned performance responsibilities.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work successfully and communicate effectively in the work setting.


 
COMPENSATION
The hourly rates for substitute culinary arts positions are as follows:
 
busser/dishwasher
cashier/greeter
catering helper
food and beverage server
catering lead cook
cook helper
cook		 $9.20/hour
$9.20/hour
$10.81/hour
$9.20/hour
$13.39/hour
$10.81/hour
$12.85/hour

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT The person hired must provide proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment. Persons hired into substitute positions are required to become members of the union, UCWU, or pay a representation fee upon completion of thirty days of work in a school year.
