POSITION

Work hours for this temporary (seasonal) position will vary from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and it will begin following selection. The length of employment will not begin earlier than March of each year and end not later than October of the same year, though the duration may be shorter depending upon the college's needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Maintains and repairs existing lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers in a healthy and attractive state.
  2. Operates mowers, edger's, blowers and vacuums, electrical power and hand tools, and other specified types of power equipment necessary to complete certain jobs.
  3. Repair cyclone fences and adjust gates.
  4. Repairs blacktop areas.
  5. Paints parking lots and play course.
  6. Maintains all recreational areas.
  7. Applies sawdust chips, bark, gravel, etc., as needed.
  8. Prepares flower beds and large areas for seeding.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. A minimum of one year of documented, successful grounds work experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to perform self-directed job responsibilities in a timely, efficient manner.
  3. Demonstrated competency for successful performance of the responsibilities listed.
  4. Be able to lift 50 pounds.
  5. Hold a valid Washington State driver's license and have a good driving record.
COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $11.88.
