POSITION

This  is an on call, substitute position that  reports to the Assistant Director of Catering/Food Service. The substitute Cashier/Greeter will temporarily replace permanent employees who are absent, and will work on call as needed.  The work day is usually six hours, 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Under direct supervision, the incumbent operates a cash register, reconciles food and beverage transactions, and performs other routine set-up and clean up tasks in the assigned area.  This position is scheduled to begin upon selection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Operate cash register in designated areas. Reconciles money in the assigned cash drawer at the end of the shift.

  2. Maintain and replenish stock in designated area as needed.

  3. Assist catering staff in coffee-service-setup, as requested.

  4. Update daily, weekly, and monthly menus in designated food service area.

  5. Perform opening duties in designated food service area.

  6. Perform closing duties in designated food service area.

  7. Advise supervisor of product shortages, problems, or customer complaints.

  8. Assist in serving "cafeteria style" foods, as needed.

  9. Properly display food products for retail sale.

  10. Check out with supervisor before signing out.

  11. Complete cleaning tasks to the appropriate standards in assigned areas.

  12. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, providing friendly customer service to patrons.

  13. Comply with the health department rules and regulations at all times.

  14. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to successfully perform the essential functions and stations assignments.

  2. Ability to obtain and maintain a fool handler's permit from the health department.

  3. Ability to understand written and oral instructions given in English and effectively communicates with co-workers and customers.

  4. Ability to lift 55 pounds.


COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position  is $9.20 per hour.
