The mission of the Office of Instructional Improvement is to advance educational strategies, seek to improve the quality of learning environments, and support RTC staff as they prepare a diverse student population for work.

We provide:

• Faculty & Staff workshops and department-based training
• Individual consultation and assistance with curriculum development
• Resources on instructional issues and strategies
• Small Group Instructional Discussions (SGID)
• Confidential classroom observation and coaching
• Coordination of Seattle Pacific University instructor preparation courses
• Planning for individual professional improvement
• Monthly Faculty Focus newsletter with instructional strategies
• Training and resources for the teaching and learning of ESL students
• Instructional technology training and resources
• Consultation and training on assistive technologies for the classroom
• Training on Universal Design for Learning and disability topics
• Training on the Learning Challenges Screening and Assessment System
• Professional development for ESL faculty in civics education
• EL civics curriculum development and resources
• Consultation and training on distance education design and instruction
