Seattle King Co Building Construction Trades Council & CPWR (Center for Construction Research and Training). The OSHA 502 is the refresher course for the OSHA 500. Tentatively scheduled the class on the following dates and times.
Cost:
There is no tuition or registration fee for this class
Prerequisites:
1. You must have completed the OSHA 500 within the last 4 years + 90 days.
2. You must be approved by the Seattle King Co Building Trades to attend.
Deadline:
You must be registered by May 9th to attend

2012 Summer Sustainability Institute - Portland Community College

Event Description:Please "save the date" for the Summer Sustainability Institute at Portland Community College in July 2012. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation and provides professional development for high school, college and university faculty. It is a week long event that pays attendees a $500 stipend to update their STEM-related courses.
The project's focus is the Landscape, Building Operations/Occupancy, Construction, Architectural and Interior Design educators who want to introduce the latest technologies and methodologies to their classroom. Educators from Washington, Oregon and Idaho are targeted.

ATTENTION STEM TEACHERS! ASM Materials Camp

Event Description:Who: High school general science, chemistry, physics, math and technology teachers; middle school science teachers
What: A one-week workshop to show you how to use low cost / no cost, simple labs and experiments using everyday materials that can be integrated into your existing lesson plans.
Why: To engage and excite young people in science and math!
Program Fees: None—program includes lunch and supplies; transportation and other costs are your expense.
Credit: 2 semester graduate credits available for a cost of $250.
Schedule: This is a full day (8:00 to 5:00 PM) 5-day long workshop. (Note: Possibility of late afternoon/evening in the event of fieldtrips scheduled.)
Faculty: Primary faculty are two experienced high school “Master Teachers” who have taught materials science courses for many years and helped develop this innovative approach to hands-on learning of applied science principles.
