Finding Materials for Your Surveying Research Paper
Journals and Magazines
ProQuest
Found at
the RTC Library Database page (http://www.rtc.edu/library/database.htm)
You
can use this database from off-campus. Just go to the database page, and after
you select ProQuest, you will be asked for your student number (it begins with
809) and your last name.
Also
try your local public library. King County Public Library and Seattle Public
Library have some excellent databases. Look for these: Expanded
Academic ASAP, General OneFile, General Reference Center Gold, and New York
Times Historical (1851 - 2006). You will need a library card from that library
to access them, but you can do it over the internet.
Books
RTC Library Catalog
Books and videos in RTC Library. It’s found at
http://renton.library.ctc.edu/vwebv/searchBasic?sk=renton.
You can use this catalog from off-campus; you don’t even need to sign in.
WorldCat
Books, videos, multimedia and more, held in libraries around the world. Found at
http://www.worldcat.org/
You can use this resource anywhere; you don’t need to sign in.
Google Books
Some books are full text,
others may offer “snippets” – small sections around your search term. http://books.google.com/
