RTC Employee Celebrates 30 YearsOn September 12, Dave Parker, Welding instructor, celebrated 30 years at RTC. Dave began his career teaching blueprint reading for the apprenticeship program, and then welding at the satellite campus in Seattle for 5 years, before coming up to the main campus. During his time at the Seattle campus, welding classes were taught in 3 shifts, morning afternoon and evening, in order to meet the demand for trained welders at the shipyards. One of his most memorable moments was working with retired welding instructor, Frank Adams. "Frank was a kick to work with, "said Dave. "He had a quick wit and always had something funny to say." Asked about his future plans - Dave responded with, "I plan to work at least 3 more years, maybe more. When I do retire, I want to travel cross country on my bike and also go abroad." One thing that Dave has noticed in his 30 years is how much the campus has grown since he first began, both in size and staff. "It is amazing how fast this campus has grown," he said. Congratulations Dave!
