Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Administrative Office Management program will:
-
Possess the skills needed to secure and maintain entry-level employment as
office managers or management trainees.

Understand and practice the professional work habits expected in the office
management field, including confidentiality and business ethics.

Understand the fundamentals of management and supervision as they apply to a
business office setting.

Be prepared to apply supervisory knowledge and skills in a variety of
challenging, complex, and dynamic situations in the business world.

Be able to plan and organize a modern electronic office consistent with
ergonomic standards and financial limitations.

Demonstrate proficiency in using computer hardware and software, including
Microsoft Office applications.

Be able to research business and employment information via printed materials,
electronic media, and the Internet.

Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and in writing at a level
necessary for successful employment in the office management field.

Demonstrate the mathematical and accounting skills essential to employment in
the office management field.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills needed to prioritize, anticipate and
analyze problems, and to evaluate and implement solutions.

Possess a commitment to diversity and enhanced employability through the
understanding and practice of human relations, teamwork, customer service and
leadership skills.

Demonstrate the ability to research employment opportunities, prepare an
effective employment package, including resume, and present oneself positively
in a job interview.
