Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Basic Welding program will:

  • Be able to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) with shielded metal ARC (SMAW), E-6010-E-7018 gas metal ARC (MIG) and flux-cored ARC gas shielded (FLC).
  • Be capable of entering an entry-level welding job.
  • Be able to cut metals using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch.
  • Know the basic fundamentals of math and measurement.
  • Be able to read and interpret basic blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Have the work readiness skills to retain an entry-level welding position.
  • Have a completed resume and be able to present themselves on a job interview.
