Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Certified Medical Laboratory Technician program will be able to:

• Provide safe, competent, accurate and timely testing and reporting for all patients
• Maintain the highest ethical standards consistent with state, federal, and deemed-status organization guidelines
• Demonstrate the ability to be successful on the American Society for Clinical Pathologists' Medical Laboratory Technician national registry examination
• Demonstrate proficiency in all mathematical calculations associated with clinical laboratory testing
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills, such as listening, writing, speaking and other appropriate communication methods
• Demonstrate competency in organizational skills, such as problem solving, prioritizing, multi-tasking and goal-setting
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills
• Demonstrate essential computer skills required for successful job performance in the medical laboratory field
• Demonstrate appropriate core work ethics, i.e. honesty, initiative, and dependability
