Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Ford ASSET program will:
-
Acquire a valid Industrial First Aid/CPR card and be aware of the safety
precautions pertaining to the automotive industry.
-
Acquire mobile refrigerant recovery and recycling certification as per Federal
EPA requirements.
-
Acquire Authorized Emission Specialist certification from the State of
Washington, Department of Ecology.
-
Achieve ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
-
Complete the requirements for an AAS (Associates of Applied Science) degree.
-
Complete 1260 hours of mentored, work-based cooperative training.

Demonstrate the ability to handle and store hazardous materials common to the
automotive industry.

Demonstrate the ability to access service and parts information via common
industry formats including printed, CDROM, DVD and Internet data bases.

Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and repair automobiles to all eight (8)
NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Educational Foundation) automotive
standards and Ford STST Certification areas.

Understand and practice communication skills essential to the requirements of
the automotive work place environment.

Understand and apply mathematical skills essential to the requirements of the
automotive service industry.

Understand and practice professional customer communication skills essential to
the requirements of the work place.

Complete Ford STST Certification to Master status.
