Licensed Practical Nurse
This program prepares students for professional licensure and employment as
Licensed Practical Nurses. The program is approved by the Washington State
Commission of Nursing. The program course of study includes courses in medical,
surgical, geriatric, obstetric, and pediatric nursing; pharmacology and
medication administration; clinical nursing procedures, communications, legal
aspects of nursing, and professional development. Under the guidance of a
nursing instructor, students participate in clinical practice in a variety of
settings in acute, ambulatory, and long-term care. Upon successful completion
of the program, students are eligible to take the Nurse Certificate and
Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN)
A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful
completion of core course requirements.
