Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Licensed Practical Nurse program will:
-
Provide safe competent, effective, efficient care for individuals and groups of
patients (clients) across the life span.

Practice within ethical and legal framework consistent with the licensing laws,
the college "Code of Conduct" the ANA Code of Ethics, and standards of nursing
practice.

Demonstrate the ability to be successful on the National Council Licensing
Examination for Licensed Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN exam).

Demonstrate proficiency in medication knowledge, calculation, and
administration.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills, such as: listening,
speaking, writing and selecting appropriate communication methods.

Demonstrate effective communication, as a team member and leader including
delegation of nursing interventions and supervision of assistive personnel.

Demonstrate organizational skills: problem solving, prioritizing, planning and
goal setting.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills

Implement therapeutic interventions using the nursing process

Document assessment findings and care given in a clear, logical, and legal
manner.

Demonstrate good work ethics, i.e., initiative, dependability, and honesty.

Demonstrate essential computer skills to work in the medical field.
