Afternoon panel discussion (1:30 pm - 4:30 pm) : The Role of Apprenticeship in the Green Economy (3 hrs) All of the discussions, studies and research around Green Jobs seem to agree that skilled workers with one to four years of post-secondary training will be the backbone of the Green Economy. Many of these skilled workers will be trained in registered apprenticeship programs. Largely un-discussed, however, is the role of registered apprenticeship programs in creating and sustaining a presence in the Green Economy.

Teams of journeymen are on-site to answer questions and offer high school students the opportunity to try their hands at a number of tasks while learning about careers in the construction trades.
