American Welding Society Scholarship
The future of the welding industry depends upon preparing the next generation to meet the challenges ahead through education. The Foundation offers educational programs to foster the growth, stature and professionalism of the welding industry.

AGC Education Foundation Scholarships
The AGC Education Foundation awards scholarships to high school and college students who are pursuing a career in the construction industry.

Building Association of Washington McKenzie Cowell Memorial Scholarship
The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) is proud to announce that the McKenzie Cowell Memorial scholarships are available to assist and encourage workforce training in the construction industry.  The BIAW is the voice of the housing industry in Washington with nearly 8,000 member companies, employing over 200,000 workers, making BIAW the largest trade association in the state. BIAW welcomes Washington residents to apply for a Scholarship, which may be used to fund almost any post-secondary education, i.e., college or vocational, public or private.

 

Scholarships are available on BIAW's website at www.biaw.com or by calling Amanda or Jan in the BIAW Education Program at 1-800-228-4229.  Students may also drop by the Financial Aid Office and request a copy of the application packet.  Completed applications must be postmarked by May 11, 2012. 

Washington State Governors' Scholarship for Foster Youth
The Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth is a scholarship program that helps young men and women from foster care in Washington State continue their education and earn a college degree.

Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE) Scholarships
WAVE awards pay undergraduate educational tuition for two years (six quarters or four semesters) at an accredited public or private college or university, or licensed vocational school. Students are reimbursed up to the amount of the highest tuition charged by a public university in the state.

Master Builders Career Connection (MBCC) Scholarships
Master Builders Career Connection (MBCC) continues to provide scholarships to students who are studying Construction Management at the University of Washington, Washington State University, Central Washington University, and local community colleges.

The Master Builders Career Connection is seeking new scholarship applicants interested in pursuing careers in residential construction. Attached is the application for the 2012-2013 school year that provides detailed information on the submittal process and the requirements for scholarship awards for students enrolling in any construction program at your school. Interested applicants should be made aware that the Master Builders Career Connection is providing these scholarship opportunities to students particularly interested in residential construction. The completed application and associated materials are due by 5:00 p.m. April 2, 2012. This year, the foundation intends to continue the trend and will be awarding individual scholarships to qualified applicants ranging from $500 to $5000 each. Students interested in applying for scholarships can also request one directly from Master Builders Career Connection at mbcc@mbaks.com, or on the website www.mycareerconection.org.

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Founders' Scholarships
Each year, NAWIC awards over $25,000 to worthy recipients in construction-related programs through their Undergraduate and Construction Trades Scholarships. Local NAWIC chapters also offer scholarships.  Puget Sound Chapter of NAWIC Scholarships:

·   $1,200 for an undergraduate in a bachelor’s degree program in construction management, engineering, or architecture

·   $800 for an undergraduate in a 2-year program in construction management, architecture, engineering, welding, carpentry, “green” building, or other construction related program

·   $500 for a construction trades apprenticeship program student

National Housing Endowment Scholarships
The National Housing Endowment supports construction education through various scholarship programs, including the Lee S. Evans Scholarship, Herman J. Smith Scholarship, Centex Home Build Your Future Scholarship, International Builders Show Scholarship, the NAHB Professional Women in Building Strategies for Success Scholarship, as well as other Education Funds.

National Labor College Scholarships
Scholarships for Building Trades Members.  Sponsored by Union Plus, scholarships are available to members of eligible building trades unions who enroll and register in any of the online degree completion programs at the National Labor College.

National Metal Fabricator Scholarships
The Careers in Manufacturing Scholarship pays $100 per semester for a year to help students help pay for textbooks or other class materials.  Multiple scholarships are awarded at various schools.

Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council (WSBCTC) Scholarship
The WSBCTC offers the Ann Gallagher Memorial Scholarship, which is available to graduating high school seniors whose parent is a member of an affiliated union.
