Community and Technical Colleges - Bachelor of Applied Science

Central Washington University – Offered at Highline/Des Moines

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Technology
allows persons who have worked in industry for a period of time to enhance their career potential by utilizing their community college education and on-the-job experience to earn a baccalaureate degree after taking upperdivision coursework. The goal of the program is to provide students with technical skills and knowledge to function as professionals within the industrial environment.

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology and Administrative Management (BAS-ITAM) is a dynamic program providing a unique approach serving Washington state and Pacific Northwest professionals who have a desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree after completing a two year IT technical degree program.

Administrative Management. This specialization is within their bachelor's degree program in Information Technology and Administrative Management, which we have offered since 2007.  It is particularly important because it is targeted at those who have earned a technical associate degree in any field, enabling those students to complete in two full years if they attend full time.  This provides a valuable avenue for those who have gained a two-year degree in a technical area to further their education in areas of administration, management, supervision and leadership. For many, the bachelor's degree will help them qualify for career advancement in a field in which they already have the technical expertise.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in safety and health management allows persons who have worked in industry for a period of time to enhance their career potential by utilizing their community college educational and on the job experience to earn a baccalaureate degree following completion of upper division course work. The goal of the program is to prepare and enable students to fill professional level positions as leaders and managers within the broad area of industrial safety and health.

Central Washington University – Offered at Everett/Lynnwood
CWU offers the same programs at Everett as they do at Highline.  In addition:

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Service Management (BAS-FSM) offers great career opportunities for students of every background. The restaurant industry is the largest private employer in Washington, hiring more women and minority managers than any other business.  Work settings range from hotels, hospitals, and resorts, to restaurant chains, fine dining, and college campuses. A management career in food service can be fast-paced, fun, and exciting. It combines the creativity of food planning and presentation with customer service, team leadership, and the challenges of running a successful business. CWU’s BAS-FSM is seeking students with experience in food service who wish to broaden their career opportunities.
