Whether a business is making money or losing money, Accountants are needed.
"Hot commodity in the Northwest: Accountants" was the headline in an October 29-November 4, 2004 article in the Puget Sound Business Journal.
According to John Herd, manager and recruiter at Accounting Partners, "Every unemployed CFO, every unemployed controller, financial people laid off from dot-coms - they've all found work and are making good money".
According to Randy Wells, managing director of the Seattle office of RSM McGladrey, starting salaries have increased this year as well. From 2003 to 2004 starting salaries have risen by about 6 percent to 8 percent.
