From Zero to A Million

In April RTC Library hit a milestone: over one million patrons have walked through the library doors.

RTC’s first librarian, Eric Palo, opened the centralized library in 1991.  The library moved twice until coming to its final home on the second floor of the TRC building, growing from 800 to 17,000 square feet.  The staff grew to seven people, with Eric becoming the Library Director. The collection grew from nothing to approximately 62,000 physical items (mostly books and DVDs), over 50,000 eBooks, and thousands of electronic journals and magazines.

Eric Palo is retiring this month. We wish him much joy in his retirement, and thank him for having guided the Library’s journey from zero to one million.
