RTC Instructors Honored by 2016 Ahead of the Class Awards

Renton, Wash. – Renton Technical College (RTC) instructors Zefire Skoczen and John Campbell have been selected among the top-five teachers in the Renton area by the 2016 Ahead of the Class Excellence in Education Awards.

“My congratulations to John Campbell and Zefire Skoczen,” said RTC President Dr. Kevin McCarthy. “They are both fine examples of the best RTC has to offer and of our commitment to helping students reach their educational goals.”

The winners were recognized at a ceremony in the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on April 14.

The Ahead of the Class award program is a partnership between the Renton Chamber of Commerce, public and private schools, and local businesses. It is part of the Chamber's effort to provide individuals, businesses, and organizations the opportunity to invest in a brighter and better tomorrow for Renton’s learners. The program aims to enhance community awareness of the excellence of education in Renton.

The top-five winners received a cash prize of $500 along with gift certificates and other items that showed the Renton area’s appreciation for their contributions to teaching.
