Angel Reyna Named Vice President of Instruction

Renton, Wash. — Renton Technical College President Kevin McCarthy announced Angel Reyna as the new Vice President of Instruction. The announcement concludes a national search to fill the position.

Reyna began his duties on Dec. 14th. “I am exceptionally happy to announce that Angel Reyna has joined Renton Technical College as our Vice President of Instruction,” said, President Kevin McCarthy. He went on to add, “Angel received very strong support from all constituencies of the College during the interview process, and he has an excellent reputation around the state. His range of work and life experiences will be immensely useful to RTC as we continue to make sure our academic programs meet the needs of students, business, and industry.  Angel is a wonderful addition to this community.”

Reyna earned both a Master’s degree in Education Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Washington State University. Most recently, he was the Dean of Workforce Education at Walla Walla Community College.  Prior to that, he worked as the Director of Workforce Education at Yakima Valley Community College, where he also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. 

Active in the Central and Eastern Washington communities he’s called home, Mr. Reyna was a member of the Mabton City Council and served as the Mayor of Mabton for three years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Workforce Development Council, Providence St. Mary’s, and Latino Education Achievement Project (LEAP).
