Renton Technical College Hires New Dean of Allied Health

Renton, Wash. —Renton Technical College (RTC) hired Christopher Carter as Dean of the Allied Health program, which includes 14 career and degree programs. Christopher began his duties on Nov. 16. Originally from California, he joins RTC with considerable leadership experience, as well as an impressive background in Allied Health teaching and administration.

Most recently, he was the associate dean and program chair of the Allied Health program at Charter College in Long Beach, Calif. In that role he was responsible for all administrative activities related to the program. He coordinated outreach programs with area hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Prior to teaching in healthcare programs, he worked in the health insurance industry. Carter holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy.

When announcing the appointment, Vice President of Instruction Jody Novotny said, “RTC Allied Health programs are high-quality certificates and degrees that lead to excellent careers in healthcare. We are looking forward to furthering program excellence and exploring new courses and programs under Christopher’s leadership.”

Carter is looking forward to connecting with the local healthcare community and forging relationships that will benefit RTC students, and healthcare providers. The Allied Health program at RTC includes:
