To update the community on our change in operations as part of our commitment to protecting the safety of our community.
Students and community members, rest assured! Renton Technical College is open and operational, but we are doing things differently. We have moved services and instruction online to the greatest extent possible to keep you and our community healthy during the coronavirus outbreak. This is both a directive of Governor Inslee and the right thing to do to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus:
- RTC will maintain its internal hours of operation of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30. p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Between March 20 and April 24, only RTC employees may enter buildings on campus. Employees need to make arrangements with their supervisor in advance.
- All on-campus events and activities are canceled during this time period.
RTC staff will be available to serve students, prospective students, and other members of the public by phone, email, and by appointment in limited circumstances.
Please do not come to campus. Please see the Departmental Contact Information list to learn how to connect with RTC departments for the services you need.
We completed the winter quarter by being creative, flexible, and working well together in historically trying times. Please take time to recognize your roll in doing so, as well as the crucial part played by your colleagues, peers, friends, and loved ones. A crisis can bring out the best in people, and we appreciate your patience, support, and compassion for everyone in the community.
We know that much of the future is uncertain as we all react to this evolving public health crisis. Continue to check your email and the RTC website for the most recent updates as we prepare for the spring quarter which will run from April 13-June 24.
The RTC Community has no confirmed cases of COVID-19. However, we must all be responsible members of the community and practice safe hygiene and social-distancing to help slow the spread of this virus.
The LRCC’s Food Pantry will be operational for the entire break for students in need. Weather permitting, food will be available outside the C-Building (in case of rain, inside the C building) Mondays—Fridays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
