Renton Technical College will continue to run our two current cohorts of nursing students as usual. However, RTC has decided not to bring in a spring 2019 cohort of associate-degree nursing students in an effort to ensure that we have sufficient staffing while focusing on the long-term program development.
The College has a long commitment to nursing education in our service district. We are committed to a program and staff that reflects our diverse community and provides a pathway to high-demand, high-wage jobs and reducing health disparities in our community.
We remain committed to:
- Strengthening the nursing program with curricular updates, mentoring our faculty, and pursuing national accreditation.
- Investigating alternative clinical venues for enhanced student experiences.
- Structuring a more formalized plan for student success by reviewing and revising our policies and protocols.
The next admission opportunity for students into the RTC associate-degree nursing program will be fall 2019.
We will update the RTC nursing program page with more information as it becomes available.
If you have questions about this decision or about RTC nursing, do not hesitate to contact the Associate Dean of Nursing Vicky Hertig at (425) 235-5728, firstname.lastname@example.org.
