You don't have to do college alone

TRIO is a federally funded U.S. Department of Education program to help students succeed in college and reach their academic goals. Students in TRIO can receive support like:

• One-on-one academic coaching 
• Help creating an academic success plan
• Financial literacy and scholarship guidance
• Transfer planning and university preparation 
• Workshops and connection to campus resources

Qualifications

To qualify for TRIO, one or more the following must apply to you:

• You are a first-generation college students (neither parent or guardian completed a four-year bachelor's degree in the United States)
• You meet federal income eligibility guidelines (often indicated by receiving a Pell Grant or qualifying for need- based financial aid)
• You have a documented disability

Students must also:

• Be enrolled at Renton Technical College
• Be working toward a certificate, associate degree, or transfer pathway
