Apply for Running Start
- Apply online
- Select “Running Start”
- Program of Study – Choose “Undecided-Academic” or select program of choice if you plan to start a career training or transfer program. Program may be updated.
- Application takes 3-5 business days to process. You will receive an email with your student ID #/ctcLink # once your application has been processed.
- Once you receive your ctcLink ID number:
- Activate ctcLink account
- Complete the free English Directed Self-Placement assessment online. *This assessment will determine your college-level English readiness,
does not impact Running Start eligibility.
- A free Math Directed Self-Placement assessment is also available, but not required.
- Contact Disability Resource Services if you need English assessment accommodations.
- Meet with your High School Counselor to complete the Enrollment Verification Form
(EVF)
- 2026–2027 Enrollment Verification Form
- Summer ‘26 Enrollment Verification Form
- Email completed EVF to cgood@rtc.edu or submit in-person at the Student Success Center (located in Building I)
- The Running Start office will process your EVF within 3–5 business days (M-F) and contact you via email with the next steps.
Optional: Complete the FERPA release form and submit to Registration office in-person (Student Success Center) or via email to registration@rtc.edu. FERPA release form must be submitted from email on file in student account. Learn more about FERPA.
Once you’ve signed up for classes, consider these next steps:
- IEP or 504 Accommodations: Contact Disability Resource Services at RTC to set up accommodations. This does not transfer from high school automatically.
- Pay class fees before quarter starts, if applicable. Fee waiver available to those who qualify. Review cost details and waiver options.
- Sign up for New Student Orientation.
